Install

Download Bestmate.dmg, open it, and drag Bestmate to Applications. The app has a one-click Install CLI button that sets up the bestmate command for you.

The Connections screen

Split into two halves, because they’re genuinely different things: Where it answers — every place someone can reach a twin, and which twin picks up. Slack, iMessage, WhatsApp. What it reads — sources the twin learns from. Gmail, Granola, Obsidian. Nothing here answers anyone. Each source shows when it was last read and what it pulled. disconnect stops the sync and keeps what was ingested; remove & forget also deletes it.
Imports are asynchronous. Closing the app or cancelling mid-import doesn’t cancel work already queued server-side — items already accepted will finish landing.
The app stays in the menu bar with the main window closed, and keeps configured syncs running in the background.
